Types Of Amino Acids

Amino acids have two categories

1)Non-Essential Amino Acid 

In the body, these amino acids present naturally.

It does not make obligatory to take these amino acids by the diet.

Such as: Alanine, Glutamic acid, Arginine, Asparagine, Aspartic acid, Cystein, Glutamic acid, Glutamine, Glycine, Proline, Serine and Tyrosine

2)Essential amino acids

In the body, these nine amino acids do not present naturally.

It’s compulsory to take these amino acids by the diet.

Suchas: Histidine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methonine, Phenylalanine, Theronine,

Tryptophan and Valine

 

 1)Leucine 

Origin: Chicken, canned beans, tofu, squash seeds, beef eggs etc

 Function

It helps in the growth of muscles.

It maintains blood metabolism.

It supports the body during the reaction of moderating insulin.

Leucine deficiency can cause fatigue and hair loss and also skin rashes

2)Phenylalanine

Origin: sodas drink in which include sweeteners

Function

It plays an important role in the remedy of skin disorders

It helps in the production of protein

Phenylalanine lack can cause eczema and weight loss in infants etc

 3)Tryptophan

Origin: oat bran, queen crab, avacado, jackfruit and boiled sweet potatoes etc

 Function

It is important for proper growth in newborn

It’s the predecessor of both hormones such as serotonin, melatonin that are requlates sleep, mood and pain

Tryptophan lack can lead to digestive problems and dementia etc

4)Lysine

Origin: meat, eggs, soy, blackbeans and pumpkin seeds etc

 Functions

It helps in the healing of the wound.

It provides a strength for bone and muscles

It plays a role in modulating of hormone enzymes and also antibodies

Lysine shortage can lead to stress

5)Histidine

Origin: lentils sprout, pea sprouts, dried bananas, kiwifruit and black walnuts etc

Function

It protects the nerve cells by the protective covering called myelin

It plays a role in immunity

Histidine lack causes anaemia and kidney diseases etc

6)Threonine

Origin: apricots, dried peaches, stirfried soybean sprout and peas etc

 Function

It is important for tooth as an element of teeth as like enamel, collagen etc

It plays a role in fat metabolism

It performs a function of an immune defence system

Threonine deficiency can reduce to neurological work

7)Methionine

Origin: firm tofu, boiled soy bean, bamboo shoots and paprika etc

 

 Function

It helps in the nourishment of skin and hair and keeps nails strong

It plays a role in the removal of heavy metal, for example, mercury and lead which are toxic for our body

Methionine lack causes metabolic disorders

8)Isoleucine

Origin: Eggs, Lamb, Cheese, Meat, Soy, Cashew, Cabbage, Pumpkin, Spinach etc.

 Function

It helps in producing haemoglobin.

It serves as the energy-producing in the body.

It shortage may cause muscle wasting and shaking.

9)Valine

Origin: Soy beans, mustard seeds, uncooked oats and Avocado etc

Function

It retains proper cell and as well as organ functions.

It supports the central nervous system to perform well.

Two types of sources for getting amino acids naturally

Animal Based Source

That food that comes from the animal is known as Animal-Based Source

For Example

Meat, Milk, Fish and also egg etc

 

Plant-Based Source

That food that comes from the plant is known as Plant-Based Source

For Example

Soy, Beans, Nuts etc
